Honoring the past.
shaping the future.
Our Mission
Create a pillar and safe space in our neighborhoods through teaching our children and adults the basic history of African Americans and Pan African culture.
About us
On the corner of N Albany Avenue and W Cypress Street, his father, Walter Smith Sr., started a library in two small homes, one of which was built by their family and filled the library books, works of art and artifacts collected from all over the African Diaspora.
We showcase a variety of rare moments in history, from signed articles from Booker T Washington and Malcom X to South African Ballots with Nelson Mandela featured on them. We have a lot of history to offer.
